If your health insurance coverage no longer fits your needs, if you were offered a new plan from your employer, or if you experience a change in life circumstance, you may be eligible to change or cancel your coverage on Georgia Access.
When can I cancel my health insurance coverage?
You can cancel your coverage at any time during the year. To cancel your coverage, update your application and enrollment information on Georgia Access, or through your certified agent, web broker, or insurance company. You will likely want to cancel your coverage if you are provided health insurance from your employer or are determined eligible for another government program (e.g., Medicaid or Veterans Affairs).
When can I change my plan?
You can change your plan for the upcoming year during the Open Enrollment (OE) period. If you enroll in a plan during OE and decide that it does not fit your needs, you can change your plan before OE ends. You may be eligible to change plans mid-year during a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) if you experience a Qualifying Life Event (QLE). See more information about SEPs.
