More Ways to Help Your Clients Offer Health Benefits

Clients are increasingly asking about alternatives to traditional group coverage, whether they’re facing another year of rising premiums or have never offered health benefits at all. Now Georgia Access For Business gives you another solution to bring to those conversations by offering a CHOICE, a new option designed for these situations.

CHOICE isn’t evaluated in isolation. Georgia Access For Business also helps you compare CHOICE with SHOP and your clients’ existing group options, so you can recommend the option that best fits each client’s needs.

A new, flexible alternative you can bring to your business clients.

A CHOICE Arrangement lets an employer set a fixed, tax-free contribution toward each employee’s health coverage. Instead of one group plan for everyone, employees use that contribution to choose their own ACA-compliant plan on the individual market.

Frequently Asked Questions for Agents and Brokers

If you don't find an answer to your question below, call 844-424-2472 or email agents-GAFB@georgiaaccess.ga.gov.

What is Georgia Access For Business (GAFB)?

Georgia Access For Business helps employers of all sizes explore ways to offer health benefits, primarily through a CHOICE Arrangement. Other options, including the established Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP), are also available. See Other Options for Businesses.

How does GAFB work?

GAFB gives you another health benefits option to bring to employer clients. CHOICE lets clients decide how much to contribute while employees choose their own coverage. GAFB also gives you tools to compare CHOICE with other options, including SHOP and commercial group plans. The goal is to help you find the approach that best aligns with each client's budget, health benefits goals and compliance needs.

Why is agent certification required for GAFB?

Agents who want to participate in Georgia Access For Business must complete GAFB certification training through Georgia Access and pass the required assessment with a score of 80% or higher.

How does GAFB support agents?

GAFB provides tools and direct support to help you serve clients and grow your business, including help with client questions, CHOICE guidance, comparative cost analyses, and implementation tools for employers and employees. Support is available through the Georgia Access Learning Management System and the Client Relations team, which works directly with agents as they evaluate CHOICE for their clients. Both are available at no cost to agents. To learn more, call 844-424-2472 or email agents-GAFB@georgiaaccess.ga.gov.

How can employers find certified GAFB agents?

GAFB's "Find a Certified Agent" tool lets employers search by name, agency, ZIP, product, language, or market to find and connect with a certified agent, including you once your certification is complete.
