Medicaid

Medicaid is a medical assistance program that helps many Georgians who can’t afford medical care pay for some or all of their medical bills. Any of our Georgia Access health insurance partners can help check your eligibility and find the right coverage for you and your family.

You can start an application for Georgia Medicaid through Georgia Gateway, the state government’s web portal for accessing assistance programs. When you create an account, you can apply for or renew benefits, upload documents, and report changes to your case – all at no cost.

You may be eligible for Medicaid if you:

  • Think you are pregnant
  • Are age 18 or younger (and not already covered by PeachCare for Kids)
  • Are legally blind
  • Have a disability
  • Need assisted living (such as nursing home care)
  • Meet income and assets requirements
